Youth Center

THIS IS AN ARCHIVE PAGE; THE YOUTH CENTER IS CURRENTLY NOT IN OPERATION, AND A NEW PROGRAM IS NOT YET PLANNED. 09-2021

Historically, United Community Church has been the proud host of the Lamoille County Youth Center in the lower level of our church. This was a dedicated space for and by the youth of Lamoille County. The Center was also available to community partners who serve youth.

The Youth Center suspended activities due to the pandemic in 2020. We are still committed to serving the youth of our community, and continue to look ahead to ways we can host and support youth.

The lower level of the church is currently hosting the Morrisville After School Program (MASP), so the space continues to offer hospitality and support to children and youth of various ages.

Lamoille County Youth Center  is the after-school program for youth in middle school and high school throughout Lamoille County, on Mondays through Thursdays when school is in session.  It is a safe, bully-free, drug-free zone, and is staffed by onsite coordinators,  along with volunteers from our church, Laraway School, and the Family Center.  A healthy meal is provided each time, thanks to donations of food and food cards from our many community partners.

All youth of Lamoille County are invited to come and hang out with friends, play pool, ping pong, foosball, air hockey, or board games.  Activities and programs are also scheduled throughout the school year. The Youth Center board, coordinators, and volunteers are dedicated to the Community Youth Center being for and by youth. They consult with youth regularly about the activities and programs the youth enjoy.

We remain open to ways this program might be re-imagined, or might becomes something new!
